Safety Protocols

Safety Protocols (including COVID)

I am fully vaccinated (including boosters) and wear an N95 mask while treating patients. Please read below regarding other practice guidelines including patient masking and rescheduling.

Thank you.

Office Guidelines

Because I work with vulnerable populations including women in fertility treatment and who are pregnant, I am following these practices and procedures below.

Masks: I will be wearing a mask and ask that you do as well if anyone in your household has cold or flu symptoms or if you are having any symptoms, including allergies.  If you have a sore throat, cough, fever etc. then please reschedule (no charge for late cancel). If you’ll be masking, please wear a KN94, KN95 or N95 or surgical mask. Please no cotton masks without filters. Thank you.

PLEASE RESCHEDULE IF you have any “cold” symptoms, have had recent Covid exposure including living in a household with someone with Covid – **even if you have a negative home Covid test. Details below.

Patients (and staff) are asked to stay home if they are experiencing illness/having symptoms of cold or flu including: sore throat, nasal symptoms such as runny nose (clearly not allergy related), new cough, new shortness of breath, fever or chills, new muscle aches not caused by activity such as exercise, new diarrhea, new skin rash/lesions.

Please stay home if you have been confirmed or presumed to have COVID-19 or have had close contact with someone confirmed or suspected of COVID-19 in the last 10 days.

*  When you arrive in the parking lot for your appointment, please call or be prepared to wait outside for a moment. Anyone else accompanying you will need to wait for you outside of the office during your treatment. If you must be accompanied by a caretaker, they may also need to wear a mask as described earlier.

*  We have a no handshake and no hug policy : (

* Please wear loose, layered clothing so you can be as comfortable as possible and to avoid having to undress and re-dress.

As a reminder, here are some of the steps I am taking to ensure everyone’s safety:

  • I’m doing my best with scheduling so clients don’t cross paths at the door or in the waiting room.
  • The bathroom key holder is now plastic vs. cloth and is disinfected after each use.
  • You will have a clean area in the room to rest your belongings.
  • The front office and treatment room are ventilated and the air is cleaned by use of HEPA filter with UV light. All surfaces are disinfected between patients and treatment table sheets are new.
  • Table set up: I use paper/disposable one-time use lap coverings. Pillows have vinyl/waterproof coverings that are cleaned between visits. Any blankets, towels, pillowcases or sheets are clean/one-time use. Sheets are laundered by Mission Linen.
  • I continue to use CNT (clean needle technique) which includes pre-sterilized disposable needles, using alcohol to clean the points before needling and other important safety practices that are the cornerstone of any safe acupuncture clinic.
  • There is a sink for staff use so I can more easily wash our hands throughout our shift.

Thank you for trusting me with your care!
